9th Flanders Mustang Event

After 5 years of beautiful weather, the rain came back, just when we were having our drink it started coming down and it didn't stop anymore... However in the morning it was still more or less dry, the start at Nieuwdonk still showed many open convertibles. It also showed a new 2006 Mustang GT on display (a fotoshoot of this car will be put on my site soon) We took the group photo with the 06 as background and my co-organisors 65 convertible and my fastback.

It all started very late, so with about 45 min delay we took off in 4 groups, the police (who took the group pic) even stopped the traffic for us to let the 4 groups leave the domain. Due to the rain, we had to cancel the practical test, but the drinks went in well. We were able to take some shelter where we had our drink. At our lunch break we got a visit from a Canadian who works here in Belgium, he brought his red 05 GT.

After the lunch we were even more delayed (the service in the restaurant was slow) so we decided to make the 2nd part shorter, cancelling a visit to the Old Horse Lodge. So we arrived around 17h as foreseen at the end. Sadly more then half of the people had left, trying to locate a dryer spot for their mustang. The ones that participated in the 2nd part were treated to a nice drive along the deserted Schelde river.

The remaining participants all received their trophee and we awarded the prices for the questions (minus practical test) as well. Hopefully the sun will be back for next year ! Enjoy the pics.
